A New Excel R/w Extension

Hi,

I recently had to create a greatly styled excel report in php and guess what, I encountered speed problems really fast.

 

I thought What's the solution?

 

1. There is a free library that I can use (I know about phpexcel which has speed problems, excel com automation which I currently use and it is not really security oriented )?

2. I should build a new extension myself?

 

any helping minds appreciated.
