mckayajmc
I am very new to php and have been reading a lot of old books regarding php all published before 2010. They suggest to not put the ?> tag at the end of a document containing only php. My question is, is this still relevant today or should I be putting the ending tag in every document and when should the ending tag be used? NomadicJosh
You can still leave the ending tag off and it is recommended that you do so to avoid header errors. The only time you would add an ending tag is if it is followed by html code. Example one: <?php $title = 'test'; echo $title; Example two: <?php $title = 'test'; ?> <h1><?php echo $title; ?></h1> Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/271442-ending-tag-php/#findComment-1396670 Share on other sites
