Melissafleet
Hi there I am trying to use the php mail function, but I am receiving this error: The requested URL /mailform.php was not found on this server. PHP <?php if (isset($_REQUEST['email'])) //if "email" is filled out, send email { //send email $email = $_REQUEST['email'] ; $subject = $_REQUEST['subject'] ; $message = $_REQUEST['message'] ; mail("myemail@yahoo.com", $subject, $message, "From:" . $email); echo "Thank you for using our mail form"; } else //if "email" is not filled out, display the form { echo "<form method='post' action='mailform.php'> Email: <input name='email' type='text'><br> Subject: <input name='subject' type='text'><br> Message:<br> <textarea name='message' rows='15' cols='40'> </textarea><br> <input type='submit'> </form>"; } ?> ( I replaced my email address with "myemail@yahoo.com" just for the forum... Thank you
PaperTiger
That simply means that there is no file called "mailform.php" which you are telling the form to post to. The "action" of the form should be whatever the name of that file you just showed us is, if you want to post it to the same file, which presumably you do. Melissafleet
Thank you. I changed the name of the page to the file mentioned, and the "thank you" text now appears and the mail sends. However only the subject is appearing in the mail, and not the text which was typed into the 'message' field? <?php if (isset($_REQUEST['email'])) //if "email" is filled out, send email { //send email $email = $_REQUEST['email'] ; $subject = $_REQUEST['subject'] ; $message = $_REQUEST['message'] ; mail("myemail@yahoo.com", $subject, $message, "From:" . $email); echo "Thank you for using our mail form"; } else //if "email" is not filled out, display the form { echo "<form method='post' action='?page_id=2533.php'> Email: <input name='email' type='text'><br> Subject: <input name='subject' type='text'><br> Message:<br> <textarea name='message' rows='15' cols='40'> </textarea><br> <input type='submit'> </form>"; } ?>
