I am running a custom forum software and am using NBBC parser to parse BBCODE output from the database entries. I've come across a situation where (on the remote server), any string with the UK Pound sign (£) will simply return a null string when parsed whereas on my local server it renders the string just fine.

I can only imagine that because its working on my local server but not on the remote one (and the files themselves are the same), there is a PHP configuration setting that's incorrect.

Has anyone come across this problem before? Is it a PHP config error?
