Do you want to add items to start using it or learn how to start modifying it in some way. http://codex.wordpress.org/ Add some useful plugins? such as spam blocking, askimet,stop spammer, registration captcha Is mod rewrite enabled on server? Can enable fancy urls I guess it matters what you really need to do with it.
