micky1955 Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 can anyone please tell me the correct way to pass on the value of a variable in a form?i need to pass the value of $filmid - which can be string or integer to a script. The following code only passes the variable name. Have tried it in double quotes, single quotes and no quotes!<form etc. ><input type=hidden name="delid" value=$filmid)>Help please - i'm slowly going blind from reading tutorials and manuals! :'(Micky Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/28576-passing-variables-in-a-form/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
darkcarnival Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 try this:
<input type="hidden" name="delid" value="$filmid">
btw, you have to echo with double quote and then add \ to make it output right like so:
echo "<input type=\"hidden\" name=\"delid\" value=\"$filmid\">";
that should work.edit: one more thing, make sure $filmid equals something too, otherwise that is your problem. Hypnos Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 Or, since it seems this is outside of php tags...
<input type=hidden name="delid" value="<?php echo $filmid ?>">
Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/28576-passing-variables-in-a-form/#findComment-130766 Share on other sites More sharing options...
ToonMariner Posted November 27, 2006 Share Posted November 27, 2006 I prefer hypnos method - I break out of php for html pretty much all the time. Only when I have somnething liek echo "<p>foo bar</p>"; do I not bother.
