removing ' fromm string

hi im having trouble removing ' from strings 

 

so say 

$name = "D'vion";

 

$newname = str_replace("'","",$name);

 

but this just returns the same.

No, it doesn't. Either you're looking at the wrong variable, or the single quotes you're trying to replace aren't actually single quotes.
