ronc0011
I'm trying to learn how to use your forum and apparently I'm missing something pretty basic. At first I was trying to just cut & paste from Word to the text input box on the "New Topic" page and I can't get anything to workf. I see the three little icons in the upper right of the form but they don't appear to actually do anything. Even the "Paste from Word" icon doesn't seem to actually do anything. Is there some special trick to get these things to paste content from my Word document. I have the specific text highlighted. In fact I actually did a 'Ctrl +C' to copy the desired text but there seems to be nothing that will actually paste that text into the PHPFReaks text entry form. Can anyone help me with this? scootstah
Try turning the WYSIWYG editor off by clicking the little square icon in the top left, and then paste with either CTRL+V or right-click > paste.

fastsol
I truly hope that you are simply trying to paste paragraphs of text and not actual code from Word. Programming in Word is a terrible idea and should be avoided at all costs.
cyberRobot
For what it's worth, I've just gotten into the habit of pasting things into something like Notepad. Then copy and paste it into the forum. Turning off the WYSIWYG editor is probably a quicker way to go. But this forum is unlikely to be the only place where you'll have problems. I've had similar problems with many Content Management Systems, for example.
scootstah
You could also try CTRL+SHIFT+V, which will paste as plaintext without rich text formatting - that's probably what is messing up the WYISWYG.
gizmola
I've also found the strip format button to be useful on occasion.
