fedora 5 config problem

I have a problem with fedora 5. I normally use Suse and am currently running 10.1

This test script....

<?php
//picture-test.php
// get contents of a file into a string
$filename = "trafficamber.jpg";
$handle = fopen($filename, "r");
$contents = fread($handle, filesize($filename));
fclose($handle);

header("Content-type: image/jpeg");

echo $contents;

?>

...runs fine on my Suse 10.1 system and the image is displayed in the browser, but on Fedora 5 ??? all that is output is the url of the page.

I have looked through the php and apache config scripts without success.

Any help appreciated.
