Hartley Posted December 11, 2006 Share Posted December 11, 2006 Hello, I have a table that has a bunch of stuff in it, but I did some testing in it. I removed the tests, but I want to reset the auto_increment in the table to where the last value left off. Can this be done manually without emptying the table and starting over? Thanks in advance! btherl Posted December 11, 2006 Share Posted December 11, 2006 See http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/en/example-auto-increment.html
To start with an AUTO_INCREMENT value other than 1, you can set that value with CREATE TABLE or ALTER TABLE, like this:mysql> ALTER TABLE tbl AUTO_INCREMENT = 100;
Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/30201-resetting-auto_increment/#findComment-138853 Share on other sites More sharing options...
