Ok first of all I just started learning php today.  I created php files to protect a page.  However I am not sure how to protect pdf documents from being directly accessed if you have the exact path.  Any suggestions?  Thanks so much

You would have to place the PDF documents in a directory that is not web-accessible.  The method to access them would then be a through a php script that opens the file and passes the content through to the user.

Put the PDF files in a directory that isn't public, and have them fed through a PHP script, if the POST/cookie/session/referer/whatever is what it should be.
