On almost every page of my site that I have had to debug it has said something like
Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /home/fhlinux178/b/mysite.org.uk/user/htdocs/members/index.php on line 183
The only problem with this is that it points me to the last line of the document (normally with </html> on it).  What causes this?
I'm obviously doing the same thing alot.  On one page I put another } at the end of a while loop and that fixed it, on another page I had missed a ; off the end of an echo statement.

Its a very annoying recurring problem and I am wondering whether anyone could help me
