Ive used putty and a plesk account file managers to change file persisions on a remote server but never have i done this locally. I dont know how to access the files other than through windows. i tryed the cmd and was able to navigate throught the folers but when i typed chmod it was not recognized as an internal or externall command. I also tryed to access through putty but was unsuccessful. Im not really sure what im doing. trq Posted February 11, 2007 Share Posted February 11, 2007 chmod is a Linux command and will not work on windows. I'm sorry, but Ive no idea what permissions you need to set on windows. You can however just right click on the files to view there security options maybe that will help you.
