nomoreillusions
(first, forgive my mostly ignorance here..) My board was recently hacked and my primary user ID/primary Admin ID was deleted. (thankfully I have a few) Is there any way to rebuild the user info directly in the database? I'd rather not loose the ID and for the moment, the posts remain intact with the name delegated to being a 'guest' poster rather than a registered poster. I don't want to loose the posts either... I tried to restore the info directly in the user index but changing the user status from 'annonymous' to a regular poster only made all the posts disappear. I've got them back now but I shudder to risk losing them all. any suggestions? fenway
I don't have enough info to help -- I'm not sure what you want to do. Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/38577-undeleting-a-user-on-a-phpbb-board/#findComment-185570 Share on other sites
wildteen88
If you have a backup of your phpbb database then you can restore the deleted user. If you don't have a backup then you wont be able to restore the deleted user. Prehaps what you could do is re-register the user that got deleted then you would have to go in the database and modify any posts that belonged to the deleted user to change them so they are owned by the reregistered user. You're best of getting help over at phpbb on this though and prehaps ask your host whether they have a recent MySQL backup of your sites databases at all. Note being funny or any think but phpbb is one of the most unsercure bulletin boards around. Prehaps upgrade to better bulletin board such as mybb or SMF.
