Trying to make Search

Right now I'm doing that match keyword search... I don't want to do that, I want to do a search through forum posts and topics in PHP and MySQL.

 

SELECT * FROM docs WHERE MATCH (description) AGAINST ('keyword')";

$acc2_res = mysql_query($acc2,$conn) or die(mysql_error());

 

 

I just want to do a keyword search through the forum post and topics text.  They are in longtext format in my mysql database.  I got some fulltext error with the last search.  I don't want to have everything in my database have to be separated by commas or have an additioanl field added ot my table for keywords.

do you have an id associated with the record? if you do not you will have to make unique primary id's.

i have unique ids  ...  wiill that {$keyword} search rank the descriptiopios in order of relativity
