Ed O Posted March 29, 2007 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Computer WinXP Pro /Sp2 with IIS5.1 localhost running MySql Ver.5.0.37 -com I using HeidiSQL front End PHP version: 4.4.4 Trying to install Wordpress 2.1.2 Think perhaps PHP is not configured right. MySql looks all OK. Created Database wp_beware Open WP_Install.php in a web browser gives: Error establishing a database connection I have searched this forum and the forum at Wordpress. I have tried everything I can think of. This "famous 5 minute install" is now in it's 5th day. Ed O Posted March 29, 2007 Author Share Posted March 29, 2007 I created wp_beware database gave the WP_user all control, edited the WP_config.php with all the information, then tried to install Wordpress via WP_install.php. I always get this same error. Wordpress has never installed. I have also been very careful with case.
