jcombs_31
http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight/default01.aspx What do you guys think about this? Are they trying to make a flash alternative? steelmanronald06
Looks like some attempt to be better than Adobe Flash. Next thing you know they will release a system update to make it where microsoft systems are REQURED to have silverlight! dj-kenpo
I don't see what the point of copying flash is anyways, flash is on the way out. it's now mostly only being used for little logo animations and video clips, for a few years there flash was everywhere but there was too many limiting factors and it was always too heavy. microsoft just has to copy everything, even when there's no logical point. maybe they should just focus on doing 5 things and doing them well, rather than sloppy. ShogunWarrior
I'd disagree there dj-kenpo. I remember Flash being a nuisance because I was always getting "Download Flash" notices and upgrade notices. However now I (like many) have broadband so I can upgrade easier and view larger, higher quality content with ease. Youtube, Revver, Miniclip, GoogleVideo and any number of video/game sites rely on Flash and there are any number of uses by combining Flash with other technologies. Using Flash and an XML file or some PHP code which generates XML you can create beautiful (Flash is of course very visual-based) graphs and web apps. I think Flash is going well basically.
