essjay_d12
Were currently running version 4.0.18, but are looking to install an open source package that requires MySQL version 4.1 We have many databases/tables within version 4.0.18 Were wondering how updating MySQL will be affected.... will we lose any data? users etc? Is it as simple as downloading the latest version and installing it? Is it possible to be able to get 4.1 rather than the latest edition? Cheers d Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/56215-updating-mysql/ Share on other sites
Wildbug
4.1 appears to be available. Why not just upgrade to latest version? The only thing I can think of that will cause problems is that the user authentication changed somewhere along there, but I don't recall exactly which version. In fact, it might even have been 3.23-4.0. Check the MySQL docs to see about changes.
