andco
I have implemented a cms, which effectively replaces an old site with static pages, but I want to redirect some of the old pages to the new site. The new site is at a different url. So I want to redirect something like: www.oldsite.co.uk/something.html to www.newsite.co.uk/article.jsp?id=104 I tried adding the following to .htaccess: RedirectMatch something.html http://www.newsite.co.uk/article.jsp?id=104 But this doesn't work, because the apache url module doesn't look at the get parameter ? How shoud I go about doing this ? I am new to apache webserver, so apologies if this has been answered a million times before. steviewdr
Do you want to do it on a page per page basis? or automate the rewrite? The simplest way is to put the following in a .htaccess file, in the wwwroot on oldsite.co.uk: Redirect 301 /something.html http://www.newsite.co.uk/article.jsp?id=104 That should work fine. -steve
