Hi

 

I have a mysl column that will has value in the format below the "string - anytextvalue"

 

string-string,string-number

 

I have a variable that could equal only the number value in the above. I need to somehow write a query that will search the table and return results based on the number.

Sounds like you're storing multi-part data in a single field... that's a no-no.  You could try and write a quick-and-dirty parse for mysql to use, but that's ugly.
