182x
hey guys, I was just wondering does apache have to make use of a WWW or a WWROOT directory or is that just an IIS thing? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62918-directory-www/ Share on other sites
trq
Yes you need a root directory for the sites directory tree to start at. Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62918-directory-www/#findComment-313372 Share on other sites
182x
In xampp that seems to be htdocs is that just the same thing? Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/62918-directory-www/#findComment-314262 Share on other sites
wildteen88
Yes. By default Apache (the A in Xampp) serves htdocs folder as the document root. You can change this if you want to a different folder by editing the httpd.conf. There is no standard for what folders should be named.
