spdwrench Posted August 7, 2007 Share Posted August 7, 2007 My site has a page rank of 3 at: www.mysite.com/index.php but www.mysite.com shows a page rank of 1... even though this page is actually the same and loads the index.php page any reason for this??? does anybody know why this might happen... Azu Posted August 9, 2007 Share Posted August 9, 2007 This is probably because you have more inbound links to the index.php. Whenever the URL is different in any way, Google will usually consider it as a separate page, even if it's the same. The one without the index.php might also be being penalized for duplicate content if Google found the index.php first.
