Check if boolean/fulltext searches can be performed

Hello,

 

I've been working on a search function for a while now and have seen some MySQL installations where boolean searches can not be performed even according to the MySQL version this should be no problem.

 

Can anyone tell me how can I check if the server supports boolean searches?

 

Right now I am checking against MySQL version, but it seems it's not enough:

$booleanSearch = version_compare (mysql_get_server_info(), '4.0.1', '>=') == 1;
