smilesmita Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 hi there, i have this: foreach($data2 as $k=>$v){ $segs = split("_", $k); $cn=$segs[sizeof($segs) - 2]; echo $cn; $cn printouts out to be like this: #document CustomerContext XpciVersion ResponseStatusCode what i want is to get rid of #document completely from this string or may be get rid of this character "#" because of which i cannot insert in to DB and it gives error. any idea? Fadion Posted August 10, 2007 Share Posted August 10, 2007 u can use <a href="http://www.php.net/str_replace">str_replace()</a> $str = "#document then some text"; echo $strReplaced = str_replace('#document', '', $str); //it will echo ' then some text' It also works with arrays. U could use regex but as this is a simple case, using string manipulation is way easier and faster.
