phpknight
Every once in a while, I get this weird error that says, "mySQL server has gone away." The scripts are short, and timing probably is not the issue. I am assuming this should never happen. Is this a server issue? How do I make sure this never happens? I only know it happens at all because I email myself every query failure. These seem to have no reason to them. The server people say, "that is just mySQL." but I am not so sure that is a good answer, lol. Any ideas out there?
AndyB
"that is just mySQL" ought to take the prize for crappiest host support!! http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/gone-away.html - lots to choose from there.
phpknight
I saw that page a few days ago. I'll try to look into some of those options and see what happens. So, would you say that for a small site on a dedicated server, this probably should not happen at all?
