chantown
Well, I'm learning to write a forum/CMS myself, and that is why I am reading Design patterns, OOP PHP. But i opened up the phpBB forum code, and I see that it doesn't uses "classes" at all. It has a folder called includes, and in it are tons of functions. The question is: 1. Why does it NOT use oop? (back version compatability, no need to use it???) 2. Is a forum/CMS generally OOP-intensive 3. How deep should I use OOP in an *enterprise-level* forum/CMS? Should the word "class" fill up everywhere? Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/67401-why-does-phpbb-not-use-oop/ Share on other sites
Ken2k7
1. Why don't you ask the person who created phpBB? I mean how would we know. It's up to the programmer. 2. Well the ones like IPB and vB I know are. 3. Up to you.
