So that the parser won't look for errors and stuff and try to fix them (E.G. undeclared variables)? I think that removing it could get rid of a lot of overhead but I don't know how. I want to see if I can get the average response time for my pages to be similar to plain HTML (non-scripting) response times. And I don't really have any money..
