trq Posted September 2, 2007 Share Posted September 2, 2007 You either need a static IP address, or use a service such as http://dyndns.org. You then need to make sure your router is configured to forward port 80 through to your machine and your firewall also allows it. wildteen88 Posted September 2, 2007 Share Posted September 2, 2007 Am I mistaken but aren't 192.168.2.x address for internal networks only? If you want someone to access you from the internet (outside of your network) you will want user your computers IP address and not your networks ip. I am with Aliant using their Aliant Home Networking Gateway. Guardian-Mage Posted September 2, 2007 Author Share Posted September 2, 2007 Ok, I set up an account with those DynDNS people and I have my domain(guardian-mage.homeftp.net) but when I enter my password it just goes into my modems settings page instead of forwarding to my server. You won't be able to access your server via that domain from within your network unless you edit your hosts file. In Linux its /etc/hosts, I'm not sure where it is on windows but you should be able to do a search for it.
