I am in need of a query that can select the five top-rated items in a database table. My ratings would be 1.7, 8.9 etc. However I have been unable to find a script or tutorial on the internet that describes how one could go about doing this and I have tried many weird and wonderful methods to do this with no avail. I see this done on many websites. I apologise if the answer is sitting under my nose.

The table is sorted into columns: id, title, genre, rating, num_rates, total_rate...

Sorry if I am vague with the details, I don't have much time available since I am currently operating from an internet cafe and don't have the money to pay for another session.
