Need config help

For some reason a server I'm trying to configure only server when trying on the server.

I'm pretty much all out of ideas why...

ServerRoot "c:/apache2"
Listen *:4033
DocumentRoot "D:\php\htdocs"
ServerName xxxx.xxxx.nl:4033

<Directory />
    Options FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride None
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    Satisfy all
</Directory>

<Directory "D:\php\htdocs">
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride all
    Allow from all
</Directory>

Note that there are several Tomcat instances runnning on this machine as well. I don't think that should matter, but to be safe...

I don't think there's anything other in httpd.conf that could cause this, but just to be sure, I'll post the whole thing:

Does <Directory "D:\php\htdocs"> need Order deny,allow?

Do the logs show that the outside is trying to connect?

Is the ServerName portion in /etc/hosts? (Actually, for Windows its lmhosts, right?)

Is the server behind a router, i.e., getting properly directed to based on the port?

Oops. I guess it does. Thanks. That's probably it. Although I wonder why requests made from the server itself do work then  ???

Tbh, I didn't check. I'll do so today.

I don't know. But I'm using existing DNS records, just a different port. So that should work, right?

I wouldn't know. The server is at the AMS-IX datacenter, that's all I know.

As you can probably tell, I don't really have any practical experience with this type of stuff. I'll try if adding Order Deny, Allow will help, and otherwise I'll have a look at the accesslogs and get back to you. Thanks for the help sofar.  :)
