ober
PHPFreaks started because our owner has written a few books and is generally a whiz at this stuff. I'm not sure about the exact start date, but I'm guessing it was around 2003ish. People register everyday to get questions answered and it just continues to grow and grow. We have a solid base of good programmers that answer questions and I thank my lucky stars for them. One of the reasons we are so big is because answers normally come pretty quickly, even to the harder questions. I think anyone that is serious about PHP would feel comfortable here.
