carlg
I just recently rented a VPS off of a hosting compnay. I want to be able to access my mysql database using the Mysql Query Browser tool from my remote machine. I cannot access it. I think it's because I need to tell the firewall to allow this connection to pass thru. Is this a safe thing to do or am I asking for trouble? Is there an alternative way to access my database via the Query Browser? Thanks Carl Quote Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/73826-solved-opening-firewall-for-query-browser/ Share on other sites
trq
No matter what you use to connect you will need to allow that port to be accessed. It is relatively safe. Just make sure you only allow connections from valid hosts (ie; your machine) and you'll be fine.
