zgkhoo Posted October 23, 2007 Share Posted October 23, 2007 why i cant restore *.sql files with mysql administrator? each time when i restore *.sql(which accquire from others sample database) then occur the message The selected file was generated by mysqldump and cannot be restored by this application. but when i backup my own databases and restore it , it function well.. then wat should i do? thanks. All so some versions of mysql have changed a dump from an older release will not import to a newer if you have also dumped the layout with it..... Barand Posted October 23, 2007 Share Posted October 23, 2007 As you aren't allowed to edit the data either (from your other topics) it could be for the same reason - you don't have the necessary permissions to do it.
