arpowers Posted October 23, 2007 Share Posted October 23, 2007 Hey guys, if a page loads in a certain amount of time on my proto server (on my macbook pro) .. will it load the same way under normal server loads ? does that make sense? mainly I want to know if I can profile on this machine... PHP_PhREEEk Posted October 24, 2007 Share Posted October 24, 2007 If the production server is a dedicated environment that you have control over, and it's fairly stable, then you will probably find close enough results. If it's a shared server, then understand that server load will roller-coaster all over the place, and usually peak at certain times during certain days. It really becomes a grab-bag at that point... Concurrency can make a BIG difference in many situations, as well as load on the server.
