rdenning
Hi, I am running Apache 2 on an XP box. I have it setup to access two different urls on the same server. The problem is, I can only access them if I type the port number with the URL. I do not want to have to do this. Example: http://domain1.com:8080 instead of http://domain1.com http://domain2.com:8080 instead of http://domain2.com Can I use mod_rewrite for this? Port 80 is blocked ... I'm kind of a newbie with this ... maybe a bit higher level than a newbie, but not much. Thanks for the help. trq
Can I use mod_rewrite for this? Port 80 is blocked .. No. If port 8080 is the one Apache is listening on, then it (and mod_rewrite) will not work on another port. If port 80 is blocked via your isp I would suggest using a dns service like http://dyn-dns.org to do the port redrection for you. rdenning
Thanks for the reply ... I do actually have service from http://dyndns.com ... I have custom dns from them. So you're saying that I should be able to do port redirection throught them, which will take care of this problem? Thanks again!
