[SOLVED] Make window tab flash

For anyone that uses ICQ or MSN, when the window is minimized and you get a new message, it flashes colour

 

If you have XP it flashes orange by default

 

I want to replicate the same sort of thing

 

I think.. if the window is minimized and an alert is sent it flashes by deault as there is new activity. Dont quote me on it though. This is kind of what I want though

 

Obviously there isnt something that says setimeout(make tab flash) but if something is change when the window is minimized Im pretty sure windows kicks in and makes it flash

You can't -- that would be controlling the client windowing environment.

But as per my alert() example which obviously windows interacts with, it will make the tab flash

 

Obviously I dont want an alert, but maybe another way around it even if it is a bit of a trick

You could try opening a tiny window and closing it right away.
