it works for me in firefox on windows xp and ubuntu, but wont work in ie6 or ie7 its just showing a blue background, dude try 'tidying' up your code ive had that problem before, its just like <br> insted of <br /> etc just have a look at them and also not. also try looking at some js code if u have any that also can break your pages.

And can someone explain doctypes? cause ive gone to google and searched but they dont make sense. how do i know which one to use? and could this be causing the problem? my doctype now is:

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
