[SOLVED] Query failed. Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql

What does this error mean?

 

Query failed. Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)

 

it's driving me mad. Its just occured when i've move my database connection file. I have changed the include. Any ideas?

paths - check the paths are correct...

well i think it is

 

the folder is in the route called database and in the file is called config.php therefore include should be

 

include 'database/config.php';

don't you just hate it when you spend hours of coding and all thats stopping you is a missing '

Relative include paths are dependent on the include_path setting, if you use a leading . or .. in the path, and on the current working directory (CWD) of the main php file that is including other files.

 

Unless the file being included is in the same folder as the file including it, I recommend using an absolute file system path to avoid all possible problems with where it is located -

 

include($_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT'] . "/path_to_your_file_from_doc_root/your_file.php");
