Exclamation showing up in my email message with mail function

on line 9 I have an unordered list and when I receive this in my email, it looks like this:

as you can see the bottom line is adding that exclamation. I have no idea why and for some reason, Gmail see's that line as "quoted" text so their must be something I am not seeing

I even turned on hidden characters and cant see anything...and if I delete the word "purchase" it just does it to the 'the'

What email client is showing the problem? I copied your code, put on my server and used it to send the mail to myself. GMail shows it fine as does Eudora.

Its doing it in both gmail and hotmail. If you copied and pasted it then it must be something else with some other code on my page.

 

 

...but then again I just copied and pasted it as well and its still doing it..hmmmm any ideas?

funny..i try the same exact file on a dif server and it doesnt do it. It has to be something with the server..what would cause that though?

grrrr  so many problems with this host...

 

aplus.net blows..my boss bought it because he uses it but its garbage.

 

I called in yesterday for support because I had a problem with a PHP page inserting data into the DB giving me a 500 Internal Server Error and the guy said it was saying that because my file had a .php file extension instead of a .sql...

 

I just laughed at him and hung up.
