How to transfer all my forum with all posts

Hi. Im using SMF, and i would like to transfer ALL my forum, mods, packages, posts, topics to a new hosting. It's possible? How (my hosting got Cpanel).

yes you can do that, if you want my company can transfer for you $10-20 (depending on forum size)... takes approx. 1hr or so.

 

 

but if you wanna do it your self then...

 

copy all file from server A to server B

 

then copy mysql database from server A to server B

 

if you have cpanel on both servers, then you can just do a "backup" of your server, and then upload it to server B and unzip the file there..

Don't really need a cpanel to do a backup/restore, you can use PHPMyAdmin as well.

The forums and related mods are only files. You can take them over manually, or have CPanel back them up and unpack them at the new host.

 

The new host may have CPanel -> Cpanel transfers available. You can't do it, but they can. Ask them. It ends up an exact mirror of your site, including email and MySQL databases. All you do is switch your nameserver and go.

 

If this isn't possible, and you can move the files over manually, then all you need to do is grab your database(s). You can use phpMyAdmin to export to a SQL file, or again, use CPanel's backup page to do a DB backup. Simple stuff....

Well waiting for my new hosting to active the host i bought. If i get it to work i will put topic solved. Thanks for the help. So i just move the files and copy paste the database right?

Export/Import the database.

 

The php and other files you can just copy.

 

And if you have a temp URL, you dont have to wait for the domain.
