[SOLVED] Addition in JS using form values?

I'm trying to add some values from a form with another value however its outputting things like NaN10 in the case of (form_number+10). I've tried parseInt but it doesn't seem to do anything either.

When I output the form value without any addition it outputs fine.

This is my code:

var current_points=parseInt(document.getElementById(member_name).innerHTML);
var points = document.getElementById('points').value;
total_points=current_points+points;
document.getElementById(member_name).innerHTML=total_points;

Just as I showed you how to do this in the previous code I created for you.

var current_points = document.getElementById(member_name).innerHTML
var points = document.getElementById('points').value;
total_points = (current_points*1) + (points*1);
document.getElementById(member_name).innerHTML=''+total_points+'';
