I've got a function that displays an image.

function e_image($path, $h, $w, $misc);

The functions prints out the html code to display the image with a height and width that are in ratio with the original size and below the specified h and w params. The function is used in my ecommerce system I wrote and since some upgrades I've had to pass the absolute path to the function rather than the relative one. Because of this functions like getimagesize() fail as they only work on relative images.

My question, is there any way to change links from absolte to relative depending on the current working directory?
