[SOLVED] Register.com directory for .htaccess for pass protected page

I can't seem to find the address where I can link my .htpasswd file with my .htpasswd file. I've tried a whole lot of possibilities, but can't get it to work. I type in user name and password, but it wont let me log in....Access denied. Nowhere on register.com, does it state the directory of where they host my files so I can link these pages together. Has anyone had this problem and know? I have it in the updater folder, which is in the public folder.
