AJAX and anchor Tags

I am using ajax and I was wondering if this would work:

 

sendReqest('test.php?id=$id#user$userID','myDIV');

 

when the information would be loaded into my DIV tag, would the anchor part work???? Cause as of now, my page loads, but it does not goto the anchor tag

anchor tags will work when innerHTML'ed into a div.  the problem is that javascript will not execute when innerHTML'ed.  If the javascript is part of an anchor tag that is innerHTML'ed though, it should work:

<a href="url" onclick="alert('hello');return false;">click here</a>

--the above should work when clicked after innerHTML'ed into something.
