rofl90
I thought I could use cron jobs or something.. but all my files dynamically read content/main.htm if I assigned all those .htm files, to download to a seperate server would that work? the only problem is I don't want it to overwrite it, eg if someone hacks my server steals all content.. the likeliness i'll see even one of them within an hour is unlikely by then it'll all my overwritten with some mumbojumbo. so how do I back it up hourly even daily but to a new file each day eg content2008-17-01.htm or something. Stooney
You would use cron to run a php script made to run the backup process. You would of course change the format on date() if you want to do hourly backups so it shows the time and doesn't overwrite one file all day. backup.php <?php $file='dir/folder/file.htm'; $backup_dir='../backup/'.date("m-d-y").'file.htm'; //This would be above the webroot if(copy($file, $dir)){ //success } ?> Link to comment https://forums.phpfreaks.com/topic/91560-how-do-i-setup-an-hourly-backup/#findComment-469012 Share on other sites
