Hi,

i want to know if i have a website named www.abc.com which is hosted on an IP say 10.10.10.10

can i have www.abc.com/xyz pointing to other IP.

the reason i am asking this is that i want to plan for a large portal on which the subdirectories will be having other microsites.

Looking forward to useful comments.

regards

Joy

thanks for information, but i wont have them overlapped. The main sitemain site would be hosted in one server and the subdirectories on another, this will help in independent traffic monitoring, please correct me if this seems to be a wrong approach.

Please guide me!!! SoS !!

i will reiterate the whole requirement

i would have One Main site running a CMS on it, with some community builder applications integrated.

other two sub sites running would be forum and blogs. we have finalized in policy that the links to this will be subdirectories

for ex. the forum site will be www.mainsite.com/forumsite/ and likewise for blogs. now we expecting a huge traffic on these sites, and would like to live monitoring the traffic on individual sites as well as at some point do some load balancing on the website. Please tell me what should be my approach.
