Alkimuz
probably a noob-question, but i have to ask after 2 hours trying to find out for myself.. i know how to subtract a month from the date of today and present it like mm-yyyy: date ("m-Y", mktime (0, 0, 0, date("m") - 1, date("d"), date("Y"))) but how to subtract a month from an other date that today?? so for example, my input is: $date = 01-2003 and i want an output like: $lastmonth = 12-2002 how to get there? thanks so mutch for any help! obsidian
Try this: <?php $date = '01-2003'; list($m, $y) = explode('-', $date); echo date('m-Y', mktime(0,0,0,$m - 1,1,$y)); ?> I believe this will work, even when the date is January, but you may need to test to be sure. The Little Guy
This may work (untested): <?php $date = strtotime('01-2003'); $lastmonth = strtotime ('-1 month' ,$date); echo $lastmonth; ?>
obsidian
This may work (untested): <?php $date = strtotime('01-2003'); $lastmonth = strtotime ('-1 month' ,$date); echo $lastmonth; ?> Good thought, but as MM-YYYY is not a valid readable date format, that won't work as is; however, a slight modification will: <?php list($m, $y) = explode('-', '02-2003'); echo date('m-Y', strtotime("{$y}-{$m}-01 -1 month")); ?>
