Setting include_path in php.ini

Recommended Posts

I'm running Ubuntu 7 and have installed PHP and Apache 2 through apt.  I've modified my php.ini file (located in /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini) by uncommenting the line for the Unix include path and having it set to the following:

    include_path = ".:/var/www:/usr/share/php" (note I added /var/www)

I then restarted apache and expected my include path to reflect this, but a script running phpinfo() reveals the include path to be the same.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Does this same phpinfo() indicate that /etc/php5/cgi/php.ini is in fact the correct php.ini location. Mine is in /etc/php5/apache/ on my Debian systems, would assume Ubuntu would be the same. Did you install php as cgi?
