ginger76
Hi, Could someone tell me what this means? What is the number and what is the difference between - + before the number? time() - 7776000
BlueSkyIS
the time() function returns the current time in seconds. the number is seconds. thus, you are subtracting 7776000 from the current time, time(). incidentally, 7776000 is 90 days, at least as long as there is no time change or leap year. uniflare
time is the current unix timestamp, its the seconds since the unix epoch (00:00:00 UTC on January 1, 1970). its a number string that can be used to tell the current date with php's date() function, eg: <?php $timestamp = time(); $timestamp = $timestamp + (strtotime("+ 5 days") - time()); echo(date("l jS F Y H:i:s",$timestamp)); ?> the + or - is a simple math expression in php, it adds "seconds" to the current "timestamp", as the timestamp is a number (of seconds). the above example uses strtotime to demonstrate how you can play with the timestamp you have given. so, time() - 7776000 is the current time, minus 7776000 seconds, so 7776000 into the past. hope this helps,
