large file uploads

for one thing is it possible to upload a zipped file thats around 40 MB through a browser?

 

 

and if it is, how do i find out what the current limit is on my server and change it to be higher? because i have a simple upload form now that works really well uploading smaller (like less than 1 MB) files but im trying to upload a file now thats 9 MB and it crashes.

 

also, after you click the upload button, i want something to show up next to it that will say how much of the file has been uploaded (like 35% uploaded so far). does anyone know how i can do that?

For what you are trying to do it might be better looking into a java file uploader, something like,

PS: I've never tried this, I do not know what it's like, just the first decent result in a serch.
